Objective
RL5.10 - By the end of the year, read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poetry, at the high end of the grades 4-5 text complexity band independently and proficiently.

Purpose
  1. Cite textual evidence - Each tweet must have a page number to go along with it.
  2. Concise - To concisely explain details from a longer text.
  3. Character’s perspective - You’ve got to be able to think what a character might be thinking.

Mini Lesson

Let's look at how some people are doing on their blog/twitter project. We can think about what they've done well and what they need to fix...

Today's assignment

  1. Complete chapters 1-9 on Blog/Twitter assignment

What you'll be graded on

Make each of your Tweet's look like the work that I did. Check on my example in the Mini lesson section above. 

  • Each tweet should be almost (but not more than) 140 characters.
  • Each tweet should include the page number.
  • Include retweets, hashtags, pictures, links, and anything else you think would make your characters’ feed more authentic.
  • Each comment should be at least 3 sentences. It should explain your tweet. It should be written like you write at school (i.e. it shouldn't be written using "twitter language")
