Although students won't be using my webpage today, they will still be using the computers and their Google accounts.

One fun thing that students can do with their Google account is to create documents with Google Drive. Students can type documents, create spreadsheets, and make engaging presentations.

Today, students will use Google Drive for free writing, an assignment that requires them to write independently and quietly for about 20 minutes. Students will write a creative answer to a writing prompt. Afterwards, students will calculate how many words they typed during that 20 minutes, with the goal of writing more each time we do free writing

Finally, students will keep track of how many words they've written by using a spreadsheet at Google Drive. Here's an example of what the students' free writing spreadsheets look like
